Tiso Blackstar are a global investment company who have their roots in Africa. The company is South Africa’s largest national English publishing group, and owns the largest music and independent film catalogues on the African continent. The company wanted to establish a foothold in London, and chose Mayfair as the location for their first UK office.
When Tiso Blackstar approach us, they wanted an aesthetic that was clean, crisp and modern, and accurately reflected their brand. The space needed to accommodate partners and support staff, as well as cater for client meetings and welcome visitors.
We knew right away that the space had to be functional as well as stylish and comfortable. We recommended a monochrome design, playing on high contrast and light furniture with clean lines. Visual and audio links to Africa were also a key consideration, particularly as the client was based in Johannesburg during the renovation and they needed to sign off on many aspects of the project.
We delivered a crisp, clean London office for the African-based company, complete with telephony, data and audio visual equipment that met all their communication needs.
The Nordic oak timber floor and concrete effect wall covering on accent walls offset the clean lines and minimalist style of furniture. The furniture chosen was predominantly white, with seating upholstered in shades of grey for a slight but effective contrast. A black timber top boardroom table contrasted beautifully against the light walls and floor, and the almost Scandinavian feel was completed by the minimal black frames to the glazed partitions.
The result successfully reflected Tiso’s ethos and brand, and we’re glad to be apart of their expansion into the UK.
